About Me

Hello / 你好 / Bonjour  / 안녕하세요 / Guten Tag

My name is Chi and I am a Third Year Economics & Finance student studying at Queen Mary, University of London. I am a British Born Chinese (BBC) and I can speak Cantonese fluently whilst only understanding basic Mandarin.

What does Chibimemoirs mean?
Adding 'bi' to the end of my name makes Chibi - a Japanese slang term which means "short person" or "small child" a.k.a me! I'm 5ft exactly - I think - or at least that is what I like to tell everyone. Therefore this blog will contain small extracts of the life experiences of a short person.

I love photography, dancing & baking though I would not say I am amazing at any one of those things. But life is a path for improvements right? In terms of photography I am a Canon DSLR user - EOS 1000D. I have had this little baby for five years now. It is simple, easy to use but amazing and still manages to work wonders. Dancing is little hidden hobby which I enjoy doing but can't confidently show others. You may catch me 'dancing' when I hear a good beat though it's more conserved than when I'm in my bedroom. Cooking is definately not a forte of mine. I have tried to learn from my mother however her measurements of ingredients are so approximate that it frustrates me. I love baking because they give me exact measurements of ingredients in grams which puts my mind at ease (I'm pretty weird like that). Bread is my speciality in case you were wondering (but you probably weren't right?)

And obviously I love food. I have been blessed with a mother who cooks mouth-watering authentic Chinese food so I have grown up eating the best. Of course I also like eating food from other cultures and to be honest, I eat a lot for such a small girl (especially whilst revising...).
